When I first
started building the Career Test Advisor I had fantasies of building
a job portal. But since I like to work alone, I realized that even
if I had two lifetimes, I couldn't duplicate what Worktree has done.
(Instead I'll stick to reviewing internet career resources and let
WorkTree carry on without me as their competitor!) They claim to
be the world's biggest career search engine - a grand boast made
by several of the mega-portals.
Let me summarize
some of what you'll find at WorkTree. Then I suggest you visit their
site and decide if they merit the "biggest" tag.
WorkTree members
have unlimited access to:
Recruiter
database (7,000+ recruiters)
Power job search (3,000,000+ jobs)
Industry career sites (100+ industry job sites)
National job sites (100+ job sites covering all USA)
City/State job sites (job sites in your area)
Government career sites (city, state, and federal)
International careers (job sites for 30+ countries)
50% savings on resume blasting services
Employer sites (access 30,000+ by industry)
Fortune 1000 (access their sites and job boards)
Newspaper links (classifieds all over USA)
When you're
engaged in a job search on the WorkTree site you can use one or
both versions of their "Power Job Search" feature. This
permits you to retrieve the results of an aggregate search and /
or a real time search onto a single page controlled by your own
search terms.
WorkTree also
provides a resume service called ResumeMessenger.com. The system
creates a personal web resume and emails your profile and web resume
directly to thousands of matching recruiters overnight. The benefit
of approaching recruiters this way is that you can penetrate the
unadvertised job market.
Another bonus
to consider: WorkTree members can order 14 career guides at no charge.
A few of the titles in their library:
"Online
Job Searching What You MUST Know"
"The Secrets To Successful Salary Negotiation!"
"Interviewing 101 - The Official How To Guide"
"How To Write Dynamite Cover Letters!"
"Networking Secrets For The HIDDEN Job Market"
"How To Effectively Work With Recruiters"
"Writing KILLER Resumes That Get Interviews!"
"The Proven College Grad Job Hunting Guide"
If you've studied
the marketing of "Special Information Reports," you'll
know that a single 5-pager usually sells for about $6.00. Sometimes
they're packaged in bundles of 3 for $14.00. In any case, do the
math and see if the benefits of a WorkTree.com membership fee ($47.00
for 3 months) is attractive to you.
If yes, then
visit their site to begin your career search using the job portal
method. They are the one - the only - career search engine I'm willing
to recommend. If you'd like to visit WorkTree.com now Click
